Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• No weekends
• No on-call required

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred
• National Tech Certification applicable to specialty (e.g., ASCP-HT or ASCP-HTL for Histology techs)
• State License verification (primary source online verification)
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be updated annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for ER & Behavioral Health units (if applicable)

Required Background and Health Documents

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including SS Trace, County searches (last 7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender, and PA Statewide Patch Certificate
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results (required for all candidates)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year of start; if past positive, negative chest x-ray within 1 year required
• Annual TB Questionnaire for past positive TB
• Immunizations or titers within 10 years for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 1)

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Competency Exam as applicable to profession (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)

• Various training and competency assessments related to patient care, mobility, catheter use, skin integrity, cardiac procedures, and interdisciplinary plans of care (primarily for RN/LPN but may be relevant depending on assignment)

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
• Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year
