Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Float

Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Support primarily Medical-Surgical units with floating duties.
• Start date preferred within the next 3-5 weeks.
• Must be willing to work weekends as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be guaranteed.
• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Prior travel experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic health records system strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with at least 2 years of experience in PCU Float (Progressive Care Unit).
• Medical-Surgical experience within the last year.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy certification).
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring).
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course).
  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification).
• Tech Cert Verification - National.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
• State License 1 Verification.
• NURSYS Verification.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID.
• I9 or attestation.
• Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, and sex offender registry.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• State RN license verification within 30 days of start.
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year.
• Physical exam within 1 year, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Immunizations and health screenings (must be current or completed within 72 hours of contract signing):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent within 1 year)
  • Rubeola (Measles) - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Mumps - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Rubella - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer, series, or declination
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (or approved medical/religious exemption)
  • COVID-19 vaccination documentation
• Drug testing plan must be in place within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Annual updates required for some documents and competencies.

• Must be agreeable to floating assignments.
• References: 2 references required within 3 years of start.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
• Orientation and facility-specific compliance forms must be completed prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses comfortable with flexible scheduling and floating across units, with a preference for those who have prior travel nursing experience and Epic system knowledge.
