Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Job Description
- Work on an Adult Admission Inpatient Unit functioning as an admission unit next to the Emergency Department.
- Unit acts as a holding area for admitted patients from the ED, providing inpatient standard of care until transfer to progressive care units.
- Fast-paced environment with frequent patient turnover (admitting and transferring).
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5.
- Unit has 17 beds plus up to 8 hall beds.
- Patient population is diverse, covering all specialties except ICU-level patients.
- Responsibilities include monitoring and interpreting telemetry, managing dysrhythmias, and handling various medical equipment.
- Time management skills are essential.
- Floating required within scope to adjacent areas including ED admitted patients, ICU for SAC assignments, and inpatient PCU areas.
- Relief charge nurse duties may be required.
- No on-call requirement.
- Locals within 100 miles are not accepted.
- Pending license accepted.
- COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks.
- A 6-month break is required after 4 consecutive assignments or one year of travel work, whichever comes first.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Minimum 1 year of ER Holding experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam (must meet facility standards)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Skills & Competencies
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
- Management of dysrhythmias and related medical equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment.
- Willingness to float to adjacent units as needed.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Additional Information
- No locals within 100 miles accepted for this role.
- Floating required to ED admitted patients, ICU SAC assignments, and inpatient PCU areas.
- Relief charge nurse duties may be required.
- COVID vaccination required with exemptions accepted upon proper documentation.
- Contracted hours vary (36/40/48 hours per week), with facility allowed limited call-offs during assignment.
- New contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks.
- A 6-month break is required after 4 consecutive assignments or one year of travel work.
Prior Travel Experience
- Prior travel experience is not required. First-time travelers are accepted.
