Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position requires proficiency in scrubbing for orthopedic (total joints/trauma), general, neuro, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN (including C-section), and plastics surgeries.
  • Robotics (DaVinci) experience preferred but not required.
  • Flexible shifts, possibly 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM depending on need.
  • On-call required: 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend every 6 weeks (on-call only).
  • Callback time is 20 minutes; must stay within callback time when on call.
  • No first-time travelers accepted.
  • Expected staff-to-patient ratio: 1:1.
  • Scrub color: any color on all units.
  • Charting system: Epic.
  • Parking: No fee.
  • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care / Level III Trauma Center with 104 staffed beds.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license in Washington.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment.
  • Certification through CST or NBSTSA.
  • Proficient in scrubbing orthopedic (total joints/trauma), neuro, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN (including C-section), and plastics cases.

Additional Information

  • No block schedules required.
  • Weekend work is on-call only.
  • 48-hour workweek approval is not granted.
  • Physical and health document requirements must be current and uploaded prior to start.
  • Candidates must complete all required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules annually.
  • Facility requires compliance with state-specific background and registry checks.
  • Candidates must be able to respond to on-call within 20 minutes.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts as assigned.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced Certified OR Techs / Surgical Techs with prior travel experience who are licensed in Washington and comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care trauma center environment.
