Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Rotation: Every other weekend, holidays as needed
• Float required between facilities as needed
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and pediatrics
• Common diagnoses: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Substance Abuse

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience as an RN
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health experience, including experience within the last year
• Previous Charge RN experience
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• STARR Certification
• Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs

Required Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for North Carolina
• Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (for badge issuance)
• Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required)
• Transcript/Diploma copy may be required
• Fingerprinting required for certain positions (Home Health and Long-Term Care only)
• Health documents including:

  • Physical exam (if applicable)
  • Fit mask test (annual, specific mask types required)
  • Immunizations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine or approved exemption
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
  • TB testing and questionnaire
• References: 2 supervisory references required (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
• Work history verification for last 5 years

Important Notes

• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Floating between facilities is mandatory
• Candidates must complete and pass the required EPIC and Dysrhythmia/EKG testing (2 attempts allowed)
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
• Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgment
• Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
• Onboarding tasks via Workday must be completed prior to start

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required; first-time travelers are accepted
