Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Experience with 1:2 patient ratios
  • Skills required:
    • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
    • Neurological experience, including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • Respiratory/Thoracic experience
    • Conscious Sedation
  • Certifications required:
    • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
    • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Weekend work required (minimum every other weekend, based on unit needs)
  • Holidays required (dates determined by unit; no holiday work requests allowed)
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope as needed by unit
  • Locals not accepted (candidates residing in Guam are considered local and will not be considered)
  • Passport in hand required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Must have Compact or Guam RN license at time of application (pending licenses not accepted)
  • Additional preferred/required certifications depending on unit:
    • TCRN preferred but not required
    • PALS (preferred)
    • NRP (for ER, must be completed fully before start)
  • Facility-specific training modules required (e.g., Pressure Injury, Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis CareFusion)
  • Drug calculations and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) testing onsite during orientation (passing score 80%+, two attempts allowed)

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year (facility does not require but Aya recommends)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask types required; onsite fit testing available)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual TB questionnaire if past positive)
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination with restrictions)
    • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history)
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
  • Flu vaccine mandatory during flu season (Sept 1 - June 30) or approved medical exemption required
  • COVID vaccination strongly preferred; declination requires facility-specific waiver form

Additional Information

  • Maximum of 3 consecutive days and 7 total days of RTO (return to office) allowed, must be approved and included in contract before start
  • Free parking available; travelers must register vehicles with HR
  • Scrub color: Navy blue preferred; any solid color acceptable; jackets of any color allowed
  • Charting system: Allscripts/Sunrise
  • Candidates should plan to arrive at least one day before start due to long travel times and time zone differences

References & History

  • 2 professional references required for travel, allied, and per diem acute care roles
  • Work history verification for last 10 years required (attestations acceptable if verification not possible)

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs who are comfortable with acute care trauma settings, working weekends and holidays, and meeting strict licensure and certification requirements. Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
