Description
Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Everett, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts (10-hour shifts, 4 days per week)
Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2-week period)

Job Description
- Work in a high-volume, accredited echocardiography lab performing transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms (SE), dobutamine stress echocardiograms (DSE), and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
- Lab serves both inpatient (bedside exams) and outpatient populations.
- The facility is a stroke center; experience performing bubble studies is required.
- Common pathologies encountered include TAVRs, Watchman procedures, severe mitral regurgitation, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM), and infective endocarditis.
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent time management skills to handle the high volume of cases.
Required Qualifications
- Valid EMT / ER Technician license in Washington.
- Minimum 1 year of EMT / ER Technician experience, including experience within the last year.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Acute Care settings.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with Adult patients in Outpatient and Emergency Room settings.
- Experience performing bubble studies.
- Certifications required:
- CLS (Cardiac Sonographer License)
- CCI or RCS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Cardiac Sonographer)
Licensure & Certifications
- Must hold appropriate professional licensure and certifications for Cardiac Sonography.
- Required certifications include:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – if applicable
- Additional certifications may be required based on clinical track and unit requirements.
Experience & Skills
- Acute care and pediatric experience preferred.
- Experience performing bubble studies is required due to stroke center designation.
- Ability to perform bedside inpatient exams.
- Familiarity with common cardiac pathologies and interventions.
- Strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Facility & Work Environment
- Level II Trauma Center with inpatient, outpatient, interventional radiology, and emergency services.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Scrub color: Any except reddish orange.
- Parking is facility-paid.
Contract Details
- Travel assignment, no local candidates accepted.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Schedule: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts.
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Background checks and verifications as required by state and facility policies.
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start.
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator fit testing required for travel candidates.
- Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules prior to start.
References & Employment History
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit prior travel experience required for this position.
This position is ideal for experienced Echo Techs / Cardiac Sonographers looking for a travel contract in a high-volume, accredited stroke center environment with a focus on advanced cardiac imaging and patient care.
