Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Call rotation every 4th week (call starts Monday afternoon and ends the following Monday morning at 6:00 AM)
• Equipment used: GE, Phillips, Siemens

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine
• Valid Kentucky license for Nuclear Medicine Tech
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification may be required depending on unit
• Must provide a current Driver’s License if driving is a major job function

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Education verification matching specialty required (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Fit mask test required annually (with waiver process for failed tests)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or IgG titer required
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or IgG titer required
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination required
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required (1 reference if non-clinical)
• Unit-specific skills checklist required and must be updated annually
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry check required
• Various facility-specific documents including badge photo and exemption forms if applicable
