Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: April 14, 2026
Shift: 4x10 (06:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Weekend/On-call: 1 call per week and one weekend per month
Travel Distance Requirement: Must be more than 75 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)

Job Description

• Specialty: Cardiovascular OR Tech / Surgical Tech
• Work environment includes 23 ORs and 1 procedure room
• Elective and emergency surgeries for adult and pediatric patients
• Required to float to general procedures when not busy in CVOR
• Charting experience with EPIC required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with recent experience within the last year
• Experience specifically as a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) Technologist
• Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Experience with EPIC charting system

Health and Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete the following health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
• TB questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
• Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background and Verification Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and run monthly
• Education verification from primary source required (hard copies not accepted)
• Foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
• Transcript/diploma verification if education verification is not on file
• Employment application and work history verification required
• References: 2 references within 3 years (for direct candidates)

Additional Information

• Candidates must complete orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required
• Color blindness testing required
• Photo for badge required (passport-style with solid background)
• Parking pass form required during orientation

• Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 75 miles away
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
