Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Greensburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Rotating shifts: Days and Nights
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage: 1 Summer and 1 Winter holiday
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 to 1:7

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Pennsylvania (State License 1 Verification)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• National Tech Certification Verification
• Current physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start date (with annual TB questionnaire if applicable)
• Required immunizations or titers within 10 years:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
• Background checks including nationwide and state-specific searches within 30 days of start
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search and Department of Human Services fingerprint results required prior to start
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required if assigned to ER or Behavioral Health units
• Competency exams with minimum passing score of 80% (or meet/exceed Angoff score) as applicable
• Completion of facility-specific orientation, checklists, and training modules prior to start (including patient safety, skin integrity, mobility, catheter training, cardiac procedure education, and interdisciplinary plans of care)

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references from travel, allied, or per diem acute care within 3 years of start
• Emergency contact form required prior to start
• Signed job description and various facility-specific agreements and attestations required before starting assignment

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• All certifications must include front and back of cards where applicable.
• Fingerprinting results must be obtained and submitted before starting the assignment.
