Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) with holiday rotation
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Must be able to float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- First-timers: Not accepted (must have prior experience)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT only) within the last year
- Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist certification
- Experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work within a 60-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- No block scheduling accommodations available
Compliance and Documentation
- Proof of work eligibility and completed I-9 form required
- Copy of Driver’s License/State ID and Social Security Card required
- Annual background check including multiple searches (SSN trace, state and national criminal, sex offender registry, etc.)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required or documentation of declination for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold; T-spot not accepted)
- Annual TB questionnaire completion required
- COVID-19 vaccines highly preferred; if declined, a vaccination declination form must be completed
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
- Respirator medical clearance required annually via virtual questionnaire
Orientation and Facility Specifics
- Orientation modules must be completed prior to start; estimated 4 hours for this location
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
- Various signed acknowledgments and agreements required prior to start (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Job Description acknowledgment)
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Free parking available
Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for possible emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June - November)
- Radiation badge is not required for this position
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
- Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start required
- Work history verification for last 3 clinical employers required unless waived for this location
