Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse

Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse – Endoscopy
  • Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
  • On-call: Yes, including weekend call
  • Floating: No floating between units or facilities required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Important Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Approval for block scheduling can be requested but is not guaranteed.
  • Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; guaranteed hours are not absolute.
  • During hurricane season (June–November), employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Candidates must complete and maintain the following prior to start and throughout the assignment:

Background & Verification

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • Federal and state sanction screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
  • Education verification (diploma/transcripts as needed)
  • NURSYS license verification (for RNs)
  • Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers

Health & Immunizations

  • Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or chest x-ray if previously positive
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
    • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated

Drug Testing

  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests accepted)

Certifications & Competencies

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blindness test prior to start
  • Other certifications as required by unit or specialty

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 4-6 hours)
  • Submission of a clear, passport-style badge photo
  • Radiation badge if applicable (not required for Endoscopy RN)
  • Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety questionnaire)

This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Endoscopy RN with at least 2 years of specialty experience, holding a valid South Carolina or Compact RN license.
