Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• 17-bed ICU/CSICU caring for a wide range of patients from neonates to geriatrics
• Specialized in cardiovascular care including coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracotomy, carotid stenting, heart valve procedures, and vascular interventions
• Experience with advanced therapies and equipment such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), induced hypothermia, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and Impella Heart Pump

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and leadership within the nursing team
• Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote evidence-based care and a healing environment

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arkansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• Certifications: ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross, BLS issued by American Heart Association, PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Additional certifications: CHEMO, TNCC, EFM

Safety Sensitive Position

• This role is designated safety sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 regarding Medical Marijuana

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID and Social Security card
• Background checks including 7-year history and state-specific searches
• Education verification
• Various certifications as applicable (e.g., ACLS, BLS)
• Physical exam (within 1 year, time sensitive within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccination documentation or exemption notification
• Drug testing (negative 10-panel screen within 30 days of start)
• References: 2 required within 2-3 years
• Work history verification for past 2 years
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• Fit testing for masks will be completed onsite during orientation
• Orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
• Annual updates required for background checks, certifications, and some competencies
