Job Opportunity: Pediatric Physical Therapist
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (5x8 Days)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Weekend Requirement: 1-2 weekend shifts per month
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to cover both inpatient and outpatient pediatric physical therapy
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)
- Time Off Requests: Limited to one 5-day or less request per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off requests for auto offer
Required Qualifications
- License: Alaska Physical Therapist License (Compact license available)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of pediatric physical therapy experience (1 year required, but first timers accepted only with 2 years experience)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Alaska PT License
- Skills: Must have pediatric and acute care experience

Additional Requirements
- Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks required, including state and federal searches, education verification, and others as applicable
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers (TDAP, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu, COVID)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Respirator clearance (annual)
- Competencies: Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment history
Training and Compliance
- Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules annually via LMS platform
- Epic training modules completion required
- Fit mask testing and clearance required (annual)
- Float policy acknowledgment required
Notes
- First-time travelers accepted only if they have 2 years of experience
- Candidates must be willing to float between inpatient and outpatient pediatric PT settings
- No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 50 miles away
- Weekend shifts required
- Pending licenses accepted with proper documentation
