Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse

Location: Melbourne, Florida

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide wound care services, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5x8 schedule)
• Float coverage required across 4 hospitals for wound consults
• Primary location has the highest volume of consults; floating occurs a few times per week
• Work with a team of Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses (WOCNs) and Wound Care RNs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of wound care experience within the last year
• Wound Care Certified (WCC) or Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or experience

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend requirement
• Floating to cover multiple hospitals as needed
• On-call not required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (required by Florida law for patient-facing roles)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
• Required immunizations or titers within 5 years: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana)
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict shaving policy; no PAPR alternative)
• Background checks including social security trace, education verification, and others as required
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (travelers cannot start with fingerprints pending)

Additional Notes

• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Finalized Return to Office (RTO) schedule must be submitted with application; no changes accepted after offer
• Two professional references must be included with submission
• Flu vaccine exemptions require facility-specific forms and timely submission

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with wound care certification and experience, comfortable with floating between multiple hospital locations, and able to meet strict compliance and immunization requirements.
