Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Location: Dillon, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for professional nursing practice including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. The nurse will function independently in the Special Care Unit within 18 months. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and documenting patient physical condition each shift and monitoring for changes
  • Performing initial patient interviews and creating individualized care plans
  • Maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Initiating and documenting patient education and discharge planning
  • Performing treatments, nursing interventions, and administering medications per standards of care
  • Evaluating patient progress and ensuring safe discharge with post-services in place
  • Participating in nursing staff meetings, trauma meetings, and departmental meetings
  • Engaging in performance improvement, competency validation, and continuing education
  • Collaborating with medical staff to facilitate patient care goals

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing experience
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health records system

Additional Information

  • Prior travel experience is required
  • Night shift availability
