Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details

Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, Nights
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6
Number of Beds: 10
Local candidates not accepted (50 mile radius rule)

Required Experience

Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience in Medical Surgical specialty
Prior travel experience not required

Preferred Skills

Epic electronic health record experience within the last 6 months preferred

Required Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Required Licenses

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas with primary source verification

Health & Compliance Requirements

Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if positive)
Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination as required
Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination accepted
Varicella immunity or vaccination or documented history of chickenpox
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Background & Documentation

7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
Education verification with highest level confirmed
Employment and work history verification for 7 years
Drug testing including onsite drug screen during orientation (only one attempt allowed)
Photo for badge required
Various competency exams and safety manual acknowledgements as applicable

Additional Notes

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license or state ID
Internal compliance with federal and state employment verification (I9, E-Verify)
Orientation and fingerprinting requirements may apply depending on location

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
