Registered Nurse - Ortho and Neuro Unit

Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Ortho and Neuro (35 beds)
• Shift: Days (36 or 48 hour option)
• Patient Population: Medical Surgical, Orthopedic, Neuro
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Float Requirement: Yes, to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Documentation System: EPIC (experience required within last 6 months)
• Telemetry monitored in a centralized unit
• Free floating charge nurse
• Support staff available: Patient Care Technicians, Patient Transporters, House discharge nurse
• Scrub Color: Any, no logos
• Local Traveler Rule: Must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas with NURSYS verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Experience with EPIC documentation system within the last 6 months
• Certifications (issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross where applicable):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy Certification)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • MAB (Monoclonal Antibody Administration)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
