Job Opportunity: Rehab Registered Nurse

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Description

  • Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts
  • Patient Ratio: 1:7
  • May float to long-term acute care or other units managing MS patients
  • Charting system: Epic
  • The unit does not accept first-time travelers

Specialty Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience preferred

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)

Facility & Patient Care Focus

  • Rehabilitation care for patients recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgeries, brain injuries, and other debilitating conditions
  • Multidisciplinary team approach including physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff
  • Emphasis on family involvement and education
  • Use of advanced rehabilitation technologies and evidence-based practices
  • Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and respect

Required Qualifications & Compliance

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum of 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Important Notes

  • Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
  • Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this assignment
  • Clear headshot photo required for badge
  • Various competency exams and core testing may be required depending on role and agency status
