Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - NICU
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Summary
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience for a travel contract position. The role primarily involves working in Labor & Delivery (L&D) and NICU settings, with some floating to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Acute Care as needed. The schedule is 3 shifts of 12 hours each, with every other weekend required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NBRC RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
- Children's Hospital experience within the last 3 years
- NICU or PICU experience
Important Notes
- Indiana licensed RNs are restricted from working at this facility effective 11/30/24, with exceptions for Perioperative/OR and certain allied health travelers.
- Candidates must provide written confirmation of comfort with the every other weekend schedule before submission.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy).
- Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, and education verification.
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start date.
- Fit test for approved respirators within 12 months.
- Immunizations and titers:
- TB test within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-SPOT)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted.
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap preferred but not required.
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and unit-specific competency.
- Completion of mandatory facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (21 modules for RRTs).
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment within 2 years, with appropriate supervisory titles.
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days.
Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12's)
- Every other weekend required
