Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location

Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:15 PM - 6:45 AM)
- Hours: 36 hours accepted
- Schedule: Every other weekend required, no call
- First-time travelers accepted
- Epic charting experience required
- Will accept candidates with New Hampshire license pending

Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience (higher value confirmed)
- Work setting experience required: Trauma, Community Hospital, ER, Adult ICU
- Work setting experience preferred: Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, PICU, acute care pediatric experience
- Respiratory care experience required: airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABGs, oxygen therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, nebulizer, BiPAP, CPAP
- Equipment experience preferred: Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Servo I, LTV 1200/HT70
Patient Population
- Infants through geriatrics required
- Neonates preferred (only if competency demonstrated)
- Pediatric ER and pediatrics only if competency demonstrated
- No use in level 3 NICU
Responsibilities
- Nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy (CPT), high flow oxygen, non-invasive ventilation (NIV), cough assist, IPV
- Assist with intubations and bronchoscopies
- Mechanical ventilation management
- In-house transport of mechanically ventilated patients
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Current New Hampshire state Respiratory Therapist license (or pending)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), CRTT, RRT
Prior Travel Experience
- Not required
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Comprehensive background check required within 30 days of start, including social security verification, national sex offender registry, criminal searches (excluding NH counties), and education verification
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start (no exceptions)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Fit mask test annually required (N95 or equivalent)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or waiver
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 31 - Apr 1) or approved exemption
- Respiratory Safety Clearance questionnaire required prior to start
- Two current professional references within last 3 years required
Additional Notes
- Travelers who have ever been employed by the associated health system are not eligible
- Pass/fail testing for dysrhythmia/ECG and medication competency exams required for certain units
- Various facility-specific waivers and attestations may be required for exemptions (flu, Hep B, Tdap)
- Documentation such as photo for badge, proof of auto insurance (if applicable), and state license copies required
This position is ideal for a Respiratory Therapist with acute care experience seeking a travel contract in a community hospital setting with a focus on adult critical care and trauma. Night shift availability and competency in advanced respiratory therapies and equipment are essential.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Hampshire (or pending)
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification
- Experience working in Trauma, Community Hospital, ER, and Adult ICU settings
- Proficiency with BiPAP and CPAP therapies
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
