Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (NICU)

Location: Johnson City, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, no call required
• Primary assignment in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with float to adult units as needed
• Experience required in NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Pediatrics, and Adult care
• Active participation in student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable training, starting on Mondays (online and onsite components)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Tennessee
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 year of NICU (RRT-NICU) experience
• Experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Pediatrics, and Adult care
• Experience working with Pediatric and Adult patients
• One completed travel assignment
• Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification
• State license primary source verification
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 14 days of start
• Immunizations and titers required: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Respirator medical clearance and fit testing completed onsite
• Photo for badge and various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments
