Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - NICU

Location: Issaquah, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Level II NICU care for unstable newborns (32 weeks gestation and greater)
  • Attend all deliveries including high-risk deliveries
  • Provide care including breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP
  • Perform procedure sedation and rapid sequence intubation (RSI) drug administration
  • Manage cooling/warming blankets, drains, feeding tubes
  • Care for PICC/central lines and syringe pumps
  • Assist with GYN surgeries, couplet care, and transition nursery
  • Must be open to floating to different campuses within the region

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
  • NRP certification
  • CHEMO certification
  • EFM certification
  • Experience with chest tube set-up and care
  • Experience with procedure sedation
  • Experience administering RSI (rapid sequence intubation) drugs
  • Experience using syringe pumps
  • Experience assisting with GYN surgeries
  • Experience providing couplet care

License Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State
  • Compact license accepted and honored in Washington
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs

Prior Travel Experience

  • No explicit prior travel experience required

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to float to different campuses as needed
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
  • Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps
  • Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules (regulatory, specialty, and regional) prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required

Floating Policy

  • Acknowledgement required; traveler may be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Level II NICU in Washington State requiring a minimum of 1 year NICU experience within the last year, current RN license, and multiple certifications including BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS. The role involves care of unstable newborns, attending deliveries, and performing specialized NICU procedures. Candidates must be flexible to float between campuses and complete all required health screenings, background checks, and training modules prior to start.
