Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Work on a Medical Surgical Unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses.
- Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics.
- Unit census: 38 beds, average daily census of 33.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6.
- Electronic health record system: Epic.
- Other systems: Pyxis, SBAR.
- Scrub color: Navy Blue.
- Return to Orientation (RTO) required within 7 days.
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed.
- Weekend shifts every other weekend.
- Call requirements: None.
- Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it; if 2, work both; if 3, work 2 of the holidays.
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Information
- Floating within the facility as needed.
- Orientation scheduling is bi-weekly; full compliance with onboarding required to start on time.
- Locals accepted at the same rate.
- No call requirements.
- Weekend and holiday work expectations as noted above.
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies on code of conduct and professional appearance prior to start.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic medical surgical environment with a diverse patient population and requires strong clinical skills, flexibility, and compliance with all credentialing and health requirements.
