Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Seattle, Washington

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: Four 10-hour shifts (06:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
- Call: Call obligation to be discussed during interview; no general call required
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, on an as-needed basis
- Floating: Yes, within the hospital (not to sister hospitals)
- Block Schedule: Not open to block scheduling unless otherwise stated
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Operating Room)
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Patient Population: Orthopedic sports cases (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics. Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus.
- Work Environment: Very busy, high acuity academic setting
- Average Daily Census: 50-75 patients
- Rooms: 28 operating rooms
- Scrub Color: Any color (scrubs provided)
- Charting System: EPIC
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only (may be required depending on unit)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington State
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- Ability to float within the hospital as needed
- Must meet all background check and health document requirements (see below)
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
- Federal and state-level checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, and Washington State WATCH search
- Education verification or diploma/transcript required
- Drug screening (10-panel) required within one year of start
- Performance evaluation may be requested at assignment end
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 9-12 months of start (N95 or PAPR as applicable)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility protocol
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or vaccination documentation required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination required; vaccine series documentation required if applicable
- Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination documentation required (history of disease not accepted at this facility)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination required for tracking
Additional Notes
- Guaranteed hours may be adjusted based on census; providers may be called off or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift within a two-week cycle
- Facility is a Magnet, teaching hospital with Level trauma designation
- Parking available at daily cost (approximate)
- Candidates must complete facility-specific onboarding including EPIC integration training and other required modules prior to start
This position is suitable for RNs with OR experience seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity, academic hospital environment with a diverse surgical patient population. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
