Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Days)

Location: Rockford, Illinois

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong ICU and extensive cardiac experience to work primarily in ICU units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, with flexibility to float to Medical Surgical as needed.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
• Document care according to standards.
• Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Extensive cardiac and cardiology nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

• Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
