Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (4x10)
- Shift hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Weekend call required: 4 shifts every 6 weeks
Job Description
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse role
- Must be able to scrub during procedures
- Experience with open-heart surgery required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) nursing experience, including open-heart surgery
- CVOR experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Verification of National Technical Certification (Tech Cert Verification - National)
- Copy of National Technical Certification (Tech Cert - National)
- State License 1 Verification
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Criminal background check within 90 days, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- I-9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
- Valid state nursing license verification prior to start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
- Immunization and health documentation including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher) within 3 years of start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements, updated annually (required for CVOR and related critical care units)
- Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
- Other unit-specific certifications may apply
Additional Requirements
- Complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Provide a clear, professional photo for badge issuance
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
Notes
- Locals within 60 miles may have different rate considerations (not included here)
- Weekend call schedule requires flexibility
- This position supports critical cardiovascular surgical procedures and requires strong clinical skills in CVOR nursing
