Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Job Description

• Inpatient Physical Therapist position
• Typical hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender check
• Education verification of initial and most recent related degrees
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative TB test (T-Spot or Q-Gold) within 1 year; PPD not accepted
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required; exemptions require facility-specific approval
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if low titer)
  • Varicella (titer, 2 vaccines, or history of disease; boosters if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required year-round
• COVID-19 vaccination is highly encouraged but not mandatory
• Two professional references verified within one year of start
• Skills checklist updated annually and valid at start date

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA preferred)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not mandatory for this role

Additional Information

• Orientation and Occupational Health appointments required prior to start
• Various competency exams and facility-specific onboarding documents must be completed electronically before start date
• Facility requires annual renewal of competency exams and skills checklist
• Travelers must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
