Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Plainview, Texas
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have experience in both Vascular Ultrasound and Echocardiography.
  • Required skills include:
    • Adult Echo
    • Contrast Echo
    • Stress Echocardiogram (Treadmill)
  • No floating between units.
  • On-call required:
    • Monday to Friday, 5pm - 8am
    • 24 hours on Saturday & Sunday
  • Weekends required on-call.
  • Patient ratio approximately 8:1.
  • Echo tech skills are a hard-stop requirement; no training provided due to fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist, with experience within the last year.
  • Proficient in vascular ultrasound and vascular ultrasound studies.
  • Experience as a Vascular Sonographer.
  • Proficient in echocardiography, including contrast echocardiography and stress echocardiography (treadmill).
  • Demonstrated hard-stop proficiency in echo tech skills.

Experience

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Required years of experience: At least 1 year of recent experience as an Echo Technologist with vascular and echo skills.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Work Environment

  • Short Term Acute Care facility.
  • Level IV Trauma Center.
  • 49 staffed beds.
  • Dress code: Wear street clothes; scrubs provided.
  • Free parking in unrestricted spaces.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • Drug screening: 10 panel within 90 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
    • COVID vaccine or declination.
  • Respirator fit testing required annually.
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of facility and specialty-specific training modules annually via LMS platform.
  • On-call availability as specified.
  • Must comply with facility float policy acknowledgment.
  • Badge photo required prior to start.
  • Competency exams and skills checklists as applicable.
  • Compliance with state-specific background and registry checks if applicable.

Notes

  • This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment.
  • Candidates must be fully proficient in all required echo and vascular ultrasound skills.
  • No training will be provided on-site.
  • On-call and weekend availability is mandatory.
  • The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center with a fast-paced environment.
