Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Strong skills in CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) required
• Management of vented patients and airway management
• Artline management (preferred for ER)
• Management of dysrhythmias and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Central line management and management of IV drips
• Isolation precautions and triage skills (ER/ER Holding only)
• Computerized documentation
• Nurse to patient ratios 1:1-2+
• NIH Stroke Certification knowledge
• Interpretation of ABGs (Arterial Blood Gases)
• Continuous IV sedation and titration of IV vasopressors
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in specialty

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
• Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• 2 professional references required
• Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Photo for badge (headshot with solid light background)
• Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry check
