Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Paducah, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
- Prior travel experience required.
- Floating to similar units as needed.
- Cardiac telemetry experience required, including:
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Pre/post cardiac patient care
- Central line care and management
- Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system required.
- Required to wear royal blue scrub color.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- NIH Stroke Certification.
- NURSYS verification required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky.
- Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years, including telemetry experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment.
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification.
- State License 1 Verification.
- NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, or AP.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Education verification matching specialty required; diploma or transcripts may be requested.
- State-specific abuse registry check if applicable.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards).
- Fit mask test annually; religious exemption process available if needed.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
- Varicella vaccination or titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (one for non-clinical candidates).
- Unit-specific skills checklist must be completed and updated annually.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, solid light background).

- Telemetry unit with cardiac patient focus.
- Patient care ratios typically 1:5 to 1:6.
- Use of Epic electronic health record system.
- Scrub color: Royal Blue.
