Job Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: Night shift, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Start Date: April 27, 2026
• Float Requirement: Yes, floating between Eastern region hospitals (Long term care to Acute care) as needed. Location determined during scheduling.
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per contract)
• Transportation: Personal car required due to rural locations; rideshare services are unreliable.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist within the last year, including Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
• BLS certification
• Adult Critical Care experience
• Emergency Department experience
• Experience with intubation assist
• Experience with nasal airway placement and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Tracheostomy care and management experience
• Experience with handheld T-piece and ET tube
• Experience with High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, and CPAP
• Experience in long term care settings

Skills & Responsibilities

• Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience
• Procedures: Extubation, Intubation Assist, Nasal and Oral Airway placement and suctioning, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy care/management
• Ventilator management including weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Use of respiratory equipment such as Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, V60
• Familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), T-piece, Trach collar, Bag and mask
• Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
• Pulmonary hygiene and medication administration
• Patient assessment skills

Patient Population

• Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, Respiratory Failure, Respiratory Infections

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months and updated monthly
• Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Notes

• Floating between facilities may include long term care and acute care settings
• Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of contract signing
• References and employment verification required as per agency policy
