Registered Nurse - MS/Tele Unit

Location: Ontario, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must be willing to float to other campuses (MS-Tele Units) if census drops to maintain hours.
• Call required; must be able to return to the facility within 1 hour when called.
• Ideally minimal or no return-to-office (RTO).
• Every Other Week (EOW) schedule required.
• Submit all time off requests in advance.
• Minimum 2 years of recent/consecutive experience in Medical-Surgical (MS) in a hospital/acute care setting required.
• Knowledge of medication scanning required.
• Typical staffing ratios are 1:5.
• Prior travel experience required; no first-time travelers.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
• Telemetry experience with at least 2 years total, including experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one travel assignment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• SPT certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience in an acute care setting.

Additional Requirements

• Proof of eligibility to work (I9 or attestation).
• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting (OH BCI and FBI) required and must be updated annually.
• Education verification required.
• Competency exams and core training modules must be completed and updated annually.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually.
• Fit mask testing required prior to start.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • TDAP within 10 years or signed declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccines.
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination.
  • Varicella titer or vaccines.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually and after breaks in service of 2+ months.
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Completion of facility-specific onboarding, orientation, and training modules required prior to or during the first week of assignment.

Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to complete skills check-offs during the first week onsite.
• Candidates must comply with all facility policies including attendance and COVID/flu exemption protocols.
• Prior travel experience is mandatory; no first-time travelers will be considered.

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical RNs with travel experience who are flexible and able to work in a dynamic hospital environment with floating responsibilities and call requirements.
