Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient- and family-centered care consistent with state standards. The nurse must communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team to develop patient care plans. Maintaining confidentiality and supporting the mission, vision, and values of the organization are essential. The role requires the ability to function independently and to act rapidly and efficiently in emergency situations.

Required Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine, or authorization to practice pending licensure by endorsement
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (within six months of hire date)
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Excellent assessment, communication, computer, and documentation skills

Additional Information

• Ability to work part-time day shifts in the Emergency Department
• Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced emergency setting
