Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide imaging support in the Operating Room during vascular interventional radiology procedures.
  • Position is for a technologist (not a nurse).
  • Work schedule: 8-hour days, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Rotating on-call every 4th week.
  • Must be willing to work within a 50-mile radius.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.

Additional Requirements & Compliance

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard screenings.
  • Drug testing within 2 months of start, including 10-panel screen with marijuana and fentanyl.
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer.
    • Varicella vaccination or titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination (required during flu season).
  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (within 12 months).
  • Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged.
  • Fit testing may be required for patient-facing roles.
  • Various facility-specific compliance forms and screenings must be completed prior to start.

Work Environment

  • Supportive clinical setting in the OR for vascular interventional radiology.
  • Rotating call schedule every 4th week.
  • 8-hour shifts with standard daytime hours.

  • This is a travel contract position requiring a technologist skilled in interventional radiology imaging.
  • Candidates must be prepared to comply with all health, safety, and credentialing requirements prior to assignment start.
