Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oregon City, Oregon

Job Description

  • Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience, preferably independent on night shift.
  • Candidates with 1 to 1.5 years experience may be considered if they have worked on a high risk/high census L&D unit.
  • Must have LDRP experience (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) with at least 1 year of labor training.
  • Position may require floating between units based on needs.
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend.
  • No on-call required.
  • Patient ratios: 1:1 for labor, 1:3 for postpartum.
  • Vehicle required for assignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience working with high risk patients.
  • LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience with at least 1 year of labor training.
  • Labor and postpartum care experience.
  • Certifications (must be current and from approved organizations):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience & References

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery or related specialty.
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.

Work Environment & Additional Information

  • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care with 109 staffed beds.
  • Charting system: Epic.
  • Scrub color: Any color allowed except OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child where scrubs are provided.
  • Parking: No fee.
  • Floating: May be required to float to other units or nearby facilities within reasonable distance.
  • Floating to certain locations may include additional incentives and accommodations.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • Education verification required for nursing degree.
  • Various state-specific and facility-specific attestations and forms may be required.
  • Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules prior to start and annually thereafter.
  • Physical and health documents must be current and uploaded as required.

Schedule & Shift Details

  • Night shift independence preferred.
  • Weekend shifts every other weekend.
  • No block schedules or on-call required.
  • 48-hour shifts not approved.
