Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery with a 1:2 patient ratio. Local candidates are also considered at the same rate.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Prior travel experience is required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Experience with Cerner EMR system.
• Ability to manage 1:2 patient ratios in Labor and Delivery settings.

Required Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for South Carolina.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of I9 or attestation.
• Government-issued photo ID carried during hours of service.
• Background check within the last year covering 7 years of history, updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals.
• Education verification or transcript/diploma as applicable.
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, confirming ability to work without restrictions.
• Fit mask test within 3 months prior to start.
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific provisions for past positives)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
• Drug screening (9 or 15 panel depending on requirements) within 1 year or 30 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (9/1 - 3/31).
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required; documentation requested if vaccinated.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific onboarding forms and online orientation modules prior to start.
• Submission of a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance.
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions.
• Skills checklist and performance evaluations as applicable.

Work Environment

• Labor and Delivery unit with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Use of Cerner electronic medical records system.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NRP certification
• TNCC certification
• NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, or AP license
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses who have prior travel experience and meet the certification and licensure requirements.
