Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Days, 8-hour shifts
• Sunday through Thursday, 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM
• Standby call and holiday rotations may be required based on operational needs
• Possible start dates: April 27, May 4, May 11, or May 18, 2026

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technician, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable (check unit description)
• National certification/verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration (as applicable)
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
• Facility-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) required for certain specialties
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment
• Various facility-specific tests and acknowledgments related to telemetry and rhythm interpretation may be required depending on assignment

Background & Screening Requirements

• Background check within 90 days prior to start date, including SSN trace, county, nationwide, and sex offender searches
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire and monthly thereafter
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening within 90 days of start (state-mandated)
• Education verification as applicable to specialty
• Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
• References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (Aya standard)
• Employment application required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam (must meet Aya standard, not facility required)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Immunizations/vaccinations or exemptions required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Tuberculosis (negative TB test or chest X-ray and TB questionnaire)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or declination form)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement)
  • Meningococcal vaccine or declination (for certain departments)
• Drug testing per clinical standards

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge required (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
• Various facility-specific forms and waivers related to communicable diseases, flu, MMR, Varicella, and Hepatitis B may be required
• Telemetry exams and remediation courses may be required depending on unit assignment
• Strict deadlines apply for testing and documentation submission

This position is ideal for a licensed X-Ray Tech with at least 2 years of experience in radiology or cardiology settings, who is comfortable with travel assignments and meeting comprehensive compliance and certification requirements.
