Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech with a specialty in Radiology / Cardiology for a travel contract position. The unit includes 3 cath labs and one hybrid OR, focusing on diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in Radiology / Cardiology.
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted.
Work Schedule & Call Requirements
- Call required: Typically 6 evenings and 1 weekend per 6 weeks.
- Weekend shifts: Usually one weekend per 6 weeks on standby.
- Must respond within 30 minutes when called in.

- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Right heart catheterization
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Temporary Pacemaker
- Ventricular Assist Device Insertion
Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures (Preferred)
- Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Pulmonary Artery (PA) line insertion
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR)
- Watchman procedure
Equipment and Devices (Required)
- Fluoroscopy, Siemens
Procedural Responsibilities (Required)
- Accurate monitoring
- Equipment setup
- Perform EKG lead placement
- Prep access site
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Room circulator
- Scrub and maintain sterile field
- Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose)
Professional Knowledge and Skills
- Isolation Precautions (required)
- Use of Rapid Response team (preferred)
Systems & Communication
- Medication System: Pyxis
- Documentation Systems: EPIC, McKesson
- Communication: SBAR
Scrubs Provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Experience in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab settings
- Proficiency in the following cardiac catheterization procedures:
- Cardiac Stent Placement
- Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
- IABP Placement/Removal
- Impella insertion
- Left heart catheterization
- Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
- Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
- Right heart catheterization
- Rotablader athrectomy
- Temporary Pacemaker
Additional Notes
- Candidates must have an active compact license recognized by Washington State.
- All units with on-call requirements require a 30-minute response time.
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities.
- Various mandatory training modules and competencies must be completed prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Facility-specific badge photo required.
- Epic system training and access required for documentation.
- Candidates must comply with all regulatory and facility-specific requirements.
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with prior travel contract experience looking to work in a dynamic cardiac catheterization lab environment in Seattle, WA.
