Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Laurinburg, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Split work setting: 50% inpatient, 50% outpatient
• Willing to train candidates with 1 year of experience required
• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
• No weekends or holidays required
• Inpatient productivity expectation: 65%
• Outpatient expectation: 8 patients per day, with 1-hour treatment slots
• Local candidates within 50-mile radius considered
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Epic
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Mondays
• First-time travelers are welcome
• No specific scrub color required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapy experience in an acute care hospital setting within the last year

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ARC, AHA, or DoD accepted)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required
• Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment

Background & Health Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Proof of eligibility to work (I9, E-Verify)
• Education verification or diploma/transcript for highest degree obtained
• Drug screening: 9-panel within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with exceptions for past positives)
• Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella as required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (10/1–3/31)
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions

Additional Notes

• Candidates must carry photo ID during hours of service
• Orientation packets and clinical packets must be completed and brought to orientation
• Some competency exams and pass/fail testing may be required depending on specialty/unit
• No prior travel contract experience required; first-time travelers are accepted

This position offers a balanced inpatient and outpatient caseload with no weekend or holiday shifts, suitable for PTs with at least 1 year of experience and a valid NC license.
