Radiologic Technologist (X-ray) - West Virginia

Job Description

• Perform general X-ray studies, fluoroscopy cases (orthopedic and GI), and OR imaging (cystoscopy, ortho, GI)
• Float between general X-ray department, fluoroscopy, and operating room as needed
• Average of approximately 110 scans/studies per day
• Work with multiple imaging rooms and equipment including 4 rooms (3 general X-ray, 1 fluoro), 2 portable units, and 3 C-Arms
• Use EMR system and PACS software for imaging management
• Shifts follow a 2-2-3 schedule with 8-hour shifts covering daylight, afternoon, and midnight hours
• May be the only technologist on-site overnight
• Weekend work every other weekend; may be required to participate in holiday rotation
• No call or standby requirements
• Dress code allows any clean, professional scrubs; permanent staff wear emerald green but travelers are not required to match
• Department orientation includes 5 shifts with a preceptor, working four 10-hour days, steady afternoon and midnight shifts, and every other weekend midnight coverage

Required Qualifications

• ARRT certification
• West Virginia X-ray license
• BLS certification
• WV CARES registration required prior to start
• Must be able to function competently in all areas: general X-ray, portable imaging, OR, and fluoroscopy
• First-time travel technologists are accepted

Staffing & Environment

• Department staffed by 6-7 technologists during day shifts, 3-4 on evenings, and 1 overnight
• Radiologist coverage on-site until 5 pm, then on-call with teleradiology support overnight
• No requirement to start IVs
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) used in the department
