Job Summary

Seeking a Physical Therapist specializing in acute care for a short-term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds and Level II Trauma Center designation. The position does not require floating between units, on-call duties, weekends, or block schedules. Expected patient ratio is 1:1.

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas

• Dress Code: Solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed personnel
• Parking: Free in unrestricted employee/visitor lots
• Floating: Not required
• On-call: Not required
• Weekends: Not required
• Block schedules: Not required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination
• Respirator clearance annually for respirator use (travel only)
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)

Training & Competency Requirements

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:

  • Annual regulatory requirements
  • Specialty-specific modules as applicable
  • Trauma-informed care (effective for new and extended placements starting 12/22/25)
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

References & Employment History

• Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps

Additional Notes

• No prior travel experience required for this position
• No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements
• Must comply with all state and facility-specific background and health screening requirements
• Floating policy acknowledgement may be required

This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level II Trauma Center acute care setting with a focused patient ratio and no weekend or on-call requirements.
