Job Description

• Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Circulator)
• Float between units: No
• On-call requirement: Yes, 1-2 weeknights per six weeks
• Weekend requirement: Yes, 1 weekend per six weeks
• Block schedules: Yes
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1
• Special requirements:

  • Competency to schedule surgical cases and circulate across various service lines.
  • Independently circulate cases including Total joints, Robotic general and urology, laparoscopic general, GYN, and colorectal surgeries.
• 48-hour shifts: Not approved

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
• State-specific searches and registry checks as applicable
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination
• Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel candidates, medically cleared annually
• Fit Mask testing (N95 or equivalent), updated annually

Scheduling & Workload

• 1-2 weeknights on-call every six weeks
• 1 weekend on-call every six weeks
• Block scheduling required
• Expected to circulate independently across multiple surgical specialties

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Floating to other units is not required.
• Must be competent in circulating a variety of surgical cases independently.
