Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care
Location: San Angelo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Start date preferred: April 20 or May 4
- Open to first-time travelers with prior acute care clinical rotation experience who are comfortable working in acute care settings
- 3-6 weekend shifts per contract (rotating weekends)
- Patient population: Adult and Geriatric
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Acute care clinical rotation experience
- Comfortable working in acute care settings
Certifications & Compliance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC accepted
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or ARC accepted (if applicable)
- Other certifications as applicable per assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) — refer to job details for applicability
- Background check: 7-year check required within 30 days of start
- Drug testing required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
- Immunizations and health screenings required, including but not limited to:
- TB test or chest X-ray
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccination series/declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or proof of disease)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season
- COVID initial series required (boosters not required)
- Fit mask test within 6 months prior to start, annual updates required
Documentation Required Prior to Start
- Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID) with matching legal name on all documents
- Social Security card with matching legal name
- I-9 or attestation
- Education verification or diploma as placeholder if pending
- Employment application or resume
- References: 2 within last 3 years
- Facility-specific forms including health record, code of conduct, confidentiality, security agreements, and orientation acknowledgements
- Passport-style photo for badge
Additional Information
- Rotating weekend shifts required (3-6 per contract)
- Adult and geriatric patient populations served
- Use of EPIC EMR system
This position is ideal for Physical Therapists comfortable in acute care environments and interested in travel assignments, including those new to travel with relevant clinical rotation experience.
