Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse
Location: Quincy, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Minimum 2 years of experience required.
- Experience in CVU or CVICU is acceptable.
- Local candidates are welcome to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Experience in Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) is acceptable.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 30 days of start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions.
- N95 Fit Mask test within 12 months of start.
- Immunizations and/or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles) – proof of immunity or vaccination
- Mumps – proof of immunity or vaccination
- Rubella – proof of immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B – proof of immunity, vaccination series, or declination
- Varicella – proof of immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
- COVID-19 vaccination proof required prior to start.
- Drug testing: 10-panel test dated within 30 days of start, no rapid results accepted.
Background and Documentation
- 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, including:
- SSN trace
- County searches for last 7 years
- Alias check
- National criminal and sex offender registry checks
- Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required.
- Employment application and verification of last 3 years of work history required.
- At least 2 recent professional references required.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID and 2 forms of ID required.
- Completion of various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., safety information, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements).
- Completion of computer-based learning modules prior to start (approximately 4 hours).
- Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, JPEG format).
- Parking tag request required for all candidates.
Additional Information
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Chemotherapy certification are strongly preferred but not required.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
