Job Description

• Must have trach/ventilator experience.
• Two years of step-down (SD) nursing experience required.
• Experience with Meditech preferred.
• Shift includes every other weekend.
• Floating to med-surg and helping hands required.
• No more than three days off approved during the contract.
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required; no exemptions.
• Candidates who require an interview to accept should be redirected.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
• Minimum of two years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down nursing experience, with at least one year of recent PCU experience
• Trach/ventilator experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• Floating to med-surg and helping hands duties expected.
• No more than three days off allowed during the contract.
• Manager does not conduct interviews; candidates must accept without interview.
• Local rate area considered within 75 miles.
• Pass/fail testing includes telemetry competency and medication exams.
• Core competency exams cover topics such as patient safety, HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, ethics, and workplace violence.
• ECG Foundations exam required to prepare for onsite pass/fail ECG interpretation test (not required for some units).
• Candidates must be prepared to provide information for ID badge creation during orientation.

This is a travel contract Registered Nurse position in step-down care requiring at least two years of step-down experience and specific trach/ventilator skills. The role demands flexibility with floating assignments and weekend shifts. Compliance with extensive health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory.
