Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Lutz, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in a hybrid interventional lab performing Interventional Radiology, Pacemaker implants, and Cardiac Cath procedures with STEMI cases.
  • Daily caseload: 10-15 cases per tech.
  • Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (07:30 - 16:00).
  • On-call required as needed.
  • No floating to other facilities.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Weekend requirements to be discussed during interview.
  • Locals not accepted.
  • Pending state license not accepted.
  • No Return to Office (RTO) restrictions in contract; may be discussed if applicable.
  • Guaranteed hours apply after the first call off per pay period.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
  • Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
  • Scrub skills required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or RQI accepted).
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or RQI accepted).
  • Cath Lab Tech certification required (RCIS or ARRT). If ARRT is used, a Florida license is also required.
  • State license verification required (primary source verification).
  • Driver’s license required and must remain active throughout assignment.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted).

Additional Requirements

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start.
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD.
  • Annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (with boosters if titers low/equivocal).
  • Standard 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination required.
  • Respirator medical clearance if respirator use is required.
  • Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
  • Education verification required; foreign equivalency evaluation if education completed outside the US or Puerto Rico.
  • Fingerprinting per Florida AHCA Level II requirements prior to start.
  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours).
  • Professional photo for badge required prior to start.
  • References: 2 references from the past 2 years required.
  • Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted.

  • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care.
  • Total staffed beds: 216.
  • Charting system: Cerner.
  • Scrub color: Royal Blue.
  • Parking included.

Notes

  • Candidates must pass competency exams as applicable (e.g., medication, dysrhythmia/EKG).
  • Candidates must complete stroke education CEUs if applicable.
  • Candidates must comply with facility dress code and tobacco policy.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
