Description
Job Opportunity: Echo Tech Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: June 22, 2026
Shift: 4x10 hour days, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday
Schedule Flexibility: Must work all scheduled days; no block scheduling accommodation
Call/Weekend Requirement: 24-48 hours of weekend/night call per week

Job Description
- Perform echocardiograms in a blended pediatric and adult department (some adult scanning required)
- Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic information
- Perform daily clinical operations including:
- Echocardiograms
- Stress echocardiograms
- Bubble studies
- Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
- Pericardiocentesis
- Impella checks
- Contrast studies
- Enter preliminary data and interpretations into electronic health records (Epic)

Required Qualifications
- Valid Cardiac Sonographer license in Oregon
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer within the last year
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
- OBMI (Obstetric Medical Imaging)
- Experience with Epic electronic health records system
Additional Information
- No return to origin (RTO) within the first week of assignment
- Maximum 7 days of RTO allowed per assignment
- Mandatory cancellation requires 1.5 hours notice before shift start
- Personnel may be mandatorily cancelled one shift per two-week pay period without cause or penalty
- Scrub color guidelines apply (no all black, dark green, or camo for this role)
- Free parking available in unrestricted spaces

- Prior travel experience is not required
- This position requires flexibility to work scheduled shifts and weekend/night call as assigned
This role is ideal for a Cardiac Sonographer with pediatric and adult echo experience seeking a short-term travel assignment in a Level I Trauma teaching hospital setting.
