Job Opportunity: House Supervisor - Nights

Location: Fort Madison, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (1800-0630), 36 hours per week

Job Description

• Responsible for coordinating and directing activities on nursing units and other departments in the absence of Nurse Managers and Administration.
• Acts as nursing leadership by exhibiting professional behavior.
• Supervises staff providing general nursing care.
• Works independently and as part of a team.
• Provides high-quality nursing services to patients, employees, administration, management, physicians, and visitors.
• Maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards and evidence-based practices and ensures compliance.
• Must self-study telemetry strips; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• Minimum 4 years of House Supervisor experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Current certifications required before onboarding:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
