Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks (approximate)
Start Date: May 18, 2026
End Date: July 12, 2026 (extension possible based on unit needs)

Job Summary

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department (ED).
• Responsible for rapid, safe, and accurate triage of every patient entering the ED.
• Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Support unit preparation for Epic EMR go-live; Cerner and Epic EMR experience required.
• Must self-study telemetry strips and pass a basic dysrhythmia test during the first week to continue working in the ED.
• May be placed on call occasionally during low census periods; must be able to respond and arrive onsite within one hour if called in.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • CPI or MOAB training
• Proficient with Cerner and Epic electronic medical records systems.
