Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks (approximate)
Start Date: May 18, 2026
End Date: July 12, 2026 (extension possible based on unit needs)
Job Summary
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department (ED).
- Responsible for rapid, safe, and accurate triage of every patient entering the ED.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Support unit preparation for Epic EMR go-live; Cerner and Epic EMR experience required.
- Must self-study telemetry strips and pass a basic dysrhythmia test during the first week to continue working in the ED.
- May be placed on call occasionally during low census periods; must be able to respond and arrive onsite within one hour if called in.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN.
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- CPI or MOAB training
- Proficient with Cerner and Epic electronic medical records systems.
